Here they are, the Top 10 Real Food Slow Cooker Recipes for 2015! These are the recipes you have clicked on, shared, and pinned the most in the last year. They're all made with real food ingredients and are naturally gluten-, refined sugar-, and dairy-free. Cheers to a great year of slow cooking!
It's hard to believe, but when this year started back in January 2015 there were no slow cooker recipes on Real Food Whole Life. Up until May I mostly just shared Real Food Meal Plans with the occasional recipe thrown in for good measure.
Basically I was too scared to post recipes because, number one, my photography was terrible. Like, really, really bad. And number two, I didn't think the quick, simple, healthy meals I make each night for my family were special enough to share. So I ran Real Food Whole Life for a year without posting recipes.
In May though, after a blog rebrand and redesign, I finally built up the courage to start posting recipes. Just a few here and there at first, and then after a month or so I settled into a twice a week schedule that I've maintained throughout the rest of this year.
Pretty quickly thereafter I decided I also needed to add quick, healthy, real food slow cooker recipes to the lineup because it can be really difficult to find quality slow cooker recipes that don't contain processed ingredients. I couldn't find what I was looking for elsewhere so I figured I needed to start developing and sharing such recipes here on Real Food Whole Life myself.
There have been some challenges along the way. Slow cooker recipes are harder to test than other recipes because you can't really adjust the recipe mid-stream. Because of this I've had some pretty major recipe test fails this year (I'm still working on a Slow Cooker Chicken Peanut Satay that I've tested 5 times that's still not good enough to share!), but I've also had quite a few successes.
The biggest success has been hearing from you that you're loving the recipes. Five out of ten of this year's most popular recipes were slow cooker recipes, and I love knowing that you're sharing and enjoying these recipes with your families. I look forward to many more to come in 2016. Cheers!
