Cooked: A Natural History of Transformation by Michael Pollen. Pollen's books are must-reads if you're interested in the real food movement, and Cooked puts forth the case that cooking at home may be the most important step we can take to improve our health and open the door to a nourishing life. The perfect addition to your non-fiction reading list.

Why I'm All for Aging by Sadie Lincoln via the barre3 blog. My favorite read this February was this blog post written by Sadie Lincoln, founder of barre3. I happen to completely agree with her and love that she put my thoughts on the subject into words so perfectly.


The Changing Skies by Elephant Revival. I've been listening to the album on repeat and just can't get enough of it. It's so lovely and soothing and just the thing to play in the background during your workday, while cooking dinner, or unwinding at the end of a long day.

Startup podcast. A series about someone who knows nothing about business starts one. I'm obsessed with this one. 


Carrot Cake Breakfast Cookies from Iowa Girl Eats These breakfast cookies are gluten free, vegan, and freezer friendly. They are perfect for breakfast or an afternoon snack. I've been making double batches for Elle's lunch and sneaking some for myself as well. So good.

Dark Chocolate Dipped Crunch Coconut Cashew Sesame Bars from Half Baked Harvest. Oh my word, these are so good. I usually skip the chocolate dip part, but if you're feeling decadent, go for it!


Blood Orange, Cashew & Ginger Smoothie from Dishing Up the Dirt. This smoothie has been on repeat in our house the past few weeks since I found bags of mini-blood oranges at the store. Sweet, tangy, and such a pretty color.

Organic Mushroom Powder from Mushroom Matrix. I've been hearing a lot about mushroom powder lately and was intrigued by the health benefits. I like this brand since it's organic and grown in the USA. The powder is naturally high in vitamin D and in the winter months I've been supplementing all of our smoothies, including my three year old's, with it.


Wick-It Wader Coverup from Athleta. If you follow me on Instagram you know we just returned from a week in Maui. After a morning in the sun this coverup was invaluable for its UV protection. Plus, it's super cute and provides the right about of bum coverage. There's a short-sleeve version, too.

Carson Ballet Flat from Frye. I am all about a comfortable, stylish flat, and ever since I saw these on a girlfriend of mine I knew I had to have them. Perfect for spring, which is just around the corner!
